This is my first genuine travel experience in my life, however, it is part of an educational trip with my classmates and friends. If my memory serves me correctly, this trip took place two years ago, but it feels like it happened yesterday. Until now, I've felt both pleased and tired moments while we've been having fun. That trip is for the purpose of completing our tour guiding course at the time. We don't feel like it's for academic purposes, even though it is. We are savoring every second we are in that place. If my pals see this site, I'm sure they'll recall those great times.
Planning for DRT Bulacan
I didn't know much about the place because it was my first time traveling alone with my buddies, except that it was a municipality in Bulacan. The funny thing was that I only realized it after we were already making plans for where we would travel. Despite the fact that I am a tourism student, I had no idea where it was, even it is in my own province. "We will go to DRT," they said, and all I could think was, "Where is DRT?" "Is it a part of Malolos?", "Is it a municipality here in Bulacan?" But I didn't even bring up the subject with my buddies. They'll only laugh at me, I'm sure.
Let's fast forward because our end strategy will be as follows:
We agreed to utilize one of my friend's car, which will be driven by his father, and we will pay him for driving us because it is not just one place that we are visiting since it is a tour guiding presentation. Each of the destinations we visit has its own tour guide, which we must pay, and since we are planned to visit five places, we must budget for those five tour guides as well as entrance fees. Because we are a group of ten, it is more convenient and cost-effective for us. When all of our bills are added up, each of us has a limit of Php 2,000. The remaining funds will be used to cover her food expenses as well as souvenir purchases if she desires.
Itinerary
@3:00 in the morning
At precisely 3:00 a.m., we prepared to travel to the location where we would meet. We've agreed that those who are far from the meet-up location will stay with those who are closer to the meet-up place overnight so that we don't miss our predicted departure time. As it turns out, I am one of the people who lives close to the area, so I offer my home to some of my friends who live further away. They are a total of two girls that spend the night in our house and, despite the fact that they are women, they act like a men.
We decided to prank one of our pals when two of us were already awake at exactly 3:00 a.m. The objective was to wake her up and tell her it was already 4:00 a.m., and our strategy worked well! She stood up immediately as if she had just woke up late.
@4:00 in the morning
We arrived at the meet up location at 4:00 a.m., and as planned, we were the first to arrive. While we waited for others, we ate our breakfast, which was sopas prepared by my mother. As we ate, more of our friends arrived, and we were still able to devour the meal we had prepared.
@6:00-7:00 in the morning
We are ready to go from the meet-up place to DRT at 6:00 a.m., and we have arrived at DRT past 7:00 a.m.! We take a picture on the DRT arc and take a moment to absorb the scenery. While some of us take pictures of the scenery, we also do the initial part of our tour guiding here.
@7:30 in the morning
We went to the DRT municipality hall at 7:00 a.m. to request permission to feature certain of DRT's locations in our video presentation for academic purposes.
@8:00-8:30 in the morning (Puning Cave)
We leave the DRT municipality hall at 7:30 a.m. for our first destination, the Puning Cave. Puning Cave is a lovely cave, and even though it is dark inside, you can see why so many tourists visit. It was also slick, and the water level was high. It's just a shame we didn't explore the entire cave because going any further would be perilous for us.
It's the same as when you're in love: if it's dangerous, don't risk it. Especially if he didn't go to any lengths to defend you. STOP IT RIGHT AWAY. Just joking.
@10:00 in the morning (Dona Remedios Trinidad Parish Church)
The Dona Remedios Trinidad Parish Church is located near the DRT Municipality Hall and is a lovely location. We didn't go inside the church because, if my memory serves me right, it is being renovated. Actually, this is not where we intended to go, but because the Tumutulo Fall—where we had planned to go—is unavailable, we chose this church as an alternative.
@10:30 in the morning (Secret Falls)
Secret Falls is a stunning waterfall and a stunning location. Even if the falls are a long way from the entrance, you will not be bored or exhausted if you are with interesting people in town and witness gorgeous vistas along the way. I swear, you feel so relieved when you arrive at your goal! Even though it is a great place, I can't tell you where it is since the Falls says it already- it's a secret falls.
Okay, I'll stop.
@12:00 in the afternoon (Lunch Break)
We return to where we began during our lunch break because they have the product we are promoting in our video presentation. We also eat there because the next site we'll be visiting is too far away.
@1:00 -2:00 in the afternoon (Mt. Lumot)
It's funny to think that on our journey up Mt. Lumot, we always declare that we won't be trekking because we only have far too much time. However, as we reach the foot of the mountain and our tour guides begin walking up the mountain, we have no reason to turn around. Until we realized we were too tired and had forgotten to pack our water bottle. We were exhausted and questioned ourselves, "Why are we hiking?", " '"This isn't the plan!" When our tour guides notice that we are thirsty, they promptly request that someone bring us water. We rested twice, but once we saw the spectacular landscape from the summit, we were no longer exhausted. The view is very stunning. It's too lovely to forget we're here to shoot some video. Funny.
@2:00-7:00 in the afternoon (Verdivia Falls)
We walk for about an hour before arriving at Verdivia Falls, which is really exhausting. This is our final destination, and because it is our final stop, they decided to swim here before heading back to our hometown. Even though it is exhausting, the two dogs who accompany us on this excursion and serve as our tour guides are adorable. They didn't truly separate us from each other. When they realize that some of us are missing, they will search our backs for the missing members. They'll find our way to the area where some of us are waiting. They will likewise come to a halt when we want to take a break. Suddenly, I smile at my dog.
Verdivia Falls, in any case, is a lovely and tranquil location. I like the atmosphere so much that even if you have to walk for over an hour to get there, IT IS WORTH IT. It's also one of those places where we forgot why we were there in the first place.
Final Tips: What to Expect in DRT Bulacan
That ends our one-day tour to DRT (Dona Remedios Trinidad). One thing I must say to all of you is that being disconnected from the digital world here in DRT is a good thing for those who want to do some soul searching. Tourists that arrive here will be able to fully appreciate each of the attractions they intend to visit because they will be unable to access their social media accounts due to a lack of internet access. and being disconnected from the digital world might be beneficial at times. Because of their anxiety, I recall my mother attempting to contact me by repeatedly calling me and also my lover. My mother attempts to contact my friend to find out where I am, but we only get it when we get our way home, much like me. So that's what you should be aware of.
Before visiting DRT, Bulacan, make a schedule. Make a backup plan in case something goes wrong along the route.
If possible, rent a car to make things more reasonable for you. Have a minimum of five persons accompany you on your excursion to qualify for a discount on the entrance and guide expenses.
You can either look for tour guides ahead of time or hire them once you arrive. You cannot visit a location without the assistance of a guide.
